Why test your right click?

Most CPS tests only count the left button, but in many games the right button does the fast work: placing blocks while bridging in Minecraft, using items, or blocking. Your right-click speed is often much lower than your left-click speed simply because you never practise it. This test counts the right button only, so you get a clean number for it.

How it works

  • Only presses of the right mouse button count. Left clicks inside the box do nothing.
  • The context menu is switched off inside the test area, so it will not pop up mid-run.
  • CPS is right clicks divided by seconds, and peak is your best single second.

Getting faster on the right button

  1. Use your middle finger, not your ring finger. On most mice the right button sits under the middle finger; keep that finger arched slightly above it.
  2. Try jitter on the right button. Tensing the forearm to vibrate the finger works on the right button too, though it is harder to control.
  3. Compare short and long tests. If your 1-second score is far above your 10-second score, endurance is the thing to train.

Right Click CPS Test: questions

Does a left click count in the right-click test?

No. Only the right mouse button is counted, so you get a separate score for it.

Can I do the right-click test on a phone?

Not really. Touch screens do not have a right button, so this test needs a mouse or a trackpad with right-click.

Why is my right-click CPS lower than my left?

Almost everyone clicks the right button less, and the middle finger is usually weaker at it. A few short practice runs a day close the gap.
